PIERCINGS GENERAL AFTERCARE
-
Clean your piercing until it is fully healed. This can take several months depending on the placement and your body
-
Use a presoaked saline wipe or sterile saline spray on non-woven sterile gauze as a gentle compress for five minutes, morning and evening. Do this no more than twice a day
-
Dry the area well with sterile non-woven gauze or paper towel as moisture can lead to bacteria
-
Wash your hands thoroughly before cleaning your piercing to avoid infection as dirty hands or fingernails can transfer bacteria
-
Do not remove your jewellery during the healing process as it will begin to close immediately
-
Do not turn or rotate your jewellery
-
Do not pull or pick the dried matter because it is attached to the healing tissue.
-
Do not clean your piercing with chemicals such as alcohol, Neosporin, or Bactine as these products could cause irritation
-
Refrain from putting body creams, makeup, moisturizers, and perfumes directly on the piercing
-
In the shower, try to keep soaps or shampoos away from the area and rinse thoroughly after
-
Be careful when washing and styling your hair
-
Avoid sleeping on your piercing. You can use a travel pillow and suspend your ear in the center opening while you sleep

Be mindful when performing any strenuous exercise while healing a fresh body piercing

We strongly suggest to avoid swimming in chlorinated pools or freshwater lakes as your piercing heals

STAGES OF HEALING
A brief overview of what to expect during the healing process.
When just pierced, your piercing will feel tender and will appear slightly swollen. You may experience occasional discomfort, which is completely normal. Once the initial discomfort has settled, your piercing will begin the full phase of healing. Piercings heal from the inside out which is why the process takes some time and requires extra patience. A piercing is considered healed once you have passed the length of your healing time. The discharge you have been cleaning off for several months would’ve stopped and your jewellery sits comfortably in its placement.
Here is a quick outline of healing times by piercing location.
Lobes- 2-4 months

Low Helix- 4-6 months

Tragus, Forward Helix, Rook, Helix, Conch, Contraconch- 6-12 months

Daith, Antitragus 9-12 months
Microdermals and Surfaces vary depending on your body and its assimilation of the jewellery.
